The development of combining the functionality of piped mechanical cooling services together with sprinkler distribution pipework, resulting in lower capital cost, improved life safety, reduced services space allocation and lower operational costs.

This technology was developed in response to specific client need to reduce retrofit costs and to overcome severe space restrictions within existing buildings.

Applied Energy were instrumental in assessing how the brief challenge laid down by the client could be met and how engineering know-how could be brought to bear to enable a combined approach to be implemented. Working with Partner Contractor, All Group Services, the combined system was developed and installed into a major London hotel subsequent to commercial cost evaluation by competitive tendering against an alternative conventional approach.
